The daycare center Zwerglihuus in Töss was founded on April 17, 1997 by Maria Barbieri – Gallucci in Winterthur. The daycare center Zwerglihuus in Rosenberg was opened as a second location on October 1, 2022 by Maria Barbieri – Gallucci. It is privately operated, and subsidized spots are also offered by the city of Winterthur. A social and multicultural mix is ​​sought and implemented.

Both the first and second locations of the daycare center Zwerglihuus have many bright and spacious rooms, where the five age-mixed childcare groups and one kindergarten group are located.

The daycare center Zwerglihuus is recognized as a highly flexible childcare facility, catering to parents who need their children well taken care of at different times. During the summer holidays, the daycare center Zwerglihuus in Töss remains open, while in Rosenberg, they have a two-week break.

Children aged 3 months to 6 years are admitted to the daycare center Zwerglihuus.

Care is provided by qualified staff.

Approximately 20 to 38 children are cared for each day at both locations.

For Zwerglihuus daycare center, children are the greatest joy on earth. Our mission is to provide the children entrusted to us with the best possible start in life by getting to know and understand each child as an individual. Through documentation of our creative portfolios, we record the learning developments and interests of the children. This serves as a central element of our educational work, allowing us to observe the individual interests, strengths, and competencies of the children and presenting new challenges to us as professionals to create new educational-learning processes. We implement this through targeted support and guided sequences.

With our established rituals, routines, and practices, we aim to lay the foundation for holistic development and provide children with a nurturing and secure environment.

We aim to make our educational work transparent by collaborating with parents and offer them a parent meeting once a quarter for this purpose. We exchange brief information with parents daily through "door-handle" conversations when children enter and leave. Additionally, we organize parent evenings where we can address special topics or parents' wishes.
